Martin and Worthington debut Olympic gold in freestyle BMX. It is the first time that freestyle BMX is part of the Olympics.

The Australian Logan Martin and the British Charlotte Worthington were proclaimed the first Olympic champions in history in the freestyle BMX modality , which debuted at Tokyo 2020 .

THE OLYMPIC CALL
Martin won gold with a score of 93.30 in his first round, allowing him to enjoy the celebration of his last tricks in Aomi Park. The podium was completed by Venezuelan Daniel Dhers and Briton Declan Brooks. In the women’s category, Great Britain added one more metal with Worthington’s gold , capable of landing a 360 backflip for a score of 97.50. The American Perris Benegas and the Swiss Nikita Ducarroz accompanied her on the podium.
