The Korean men’s volleyball team wrapped up the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games with a disappointing seventh-place finish.
The men’s volleyball team (ranked 27th in the world) narrowly defeated Indonesia (ranked 57th) 3-2 in straight sets in the seventh place match on Saturday at the China Jingbang Sports Center Gymnasium in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, China.
Heo Soo-bong (Hyundai Capital) was the top scorer with 29 points, followed by Jeong Ji-seok (Korean Air) with 15 points.
The Koreans, who came to the tournament in search of their first gold medal in 17 years since the 2006 Doha Asian Games, overcame a shocking 2-3 loss to India in their first group match.
