Dominik Sobosler is the next Steven Gerrard Liverpool fans wanted.

Liverpool won the third round of the 2023-24 English Football League Cup (EFL Cup) 3-1 at 3:45 a.m. ET on Monday at Anfield in Liverpool, England. The win sends Liverpool into the round of 16.

It was a priceless come-from-behind victory. After conceding a goal to Cassie McAteer in the first three minutes, the Reds pushed forward with Diogo Jota leading the attack, but the chances were few and far between. Three minutes into the second half, the Leicester goal opened up. Cody Gakpo finished off a Ryan Gravenbergh cross to make it 1-1. Both teams used their substitutions to push for the win.

Jürgen Klopp brought on Sobosler for Ben Dock. Sobosler, who came on alongside Darwin Núñez, opened the scoring within five minutes. In the 25th minute of the second half, Sobocsler got on the end of a Wataru Endo pass and ripped a tremendous shot into the net. It was the game-winner. Sobosler’s goal set the tone and Liverpool went on to win 3-1, with Jota’s 44th-minute strike adding to the lead.

Sobosler, who joined Liverpool for €70 million this summer, inherited Gerrard’s No. 8 shirt. The previous No. 8, Naby Keita, was touted as Gerrard’s successor but was criticized by Liverpool fans for his poor performances and frequent injuries. Sobhosler, the true heir apparent to Gerrard, has been fantastic since the start of the season and has earned the overwhelming support of Liverpool fans.

Once again, he lived up to expectations with a stunning mid-range goal that reminded us of Gerrard. In his post-match interview, Klopp said: “He’s been incredibly impressive from the first training session. He is the best player and the best person. He works really hard. He tries so hard to win the ball and pushes so hard. He never stops working. He’s a top-class player with great ability. He’s a 100 percent fit for Liverpool.”

“Even when we were 0-1 down, we responded in a good way every game. It doesn’t matter who comes in and who plays. It was always us getting the three points. Everyone is ready, from the young players to the old. If you ask me if this goal is the best of my career, I don’t know. I scored my best goals for Salzburg and for the Hungarian national team. I think it’s one of the best,” he said.바카라사이트

“I’m trying to do my best. I’m ready to fight for the team, for the fans, and for myself. If I get a lot of chances, I will try to reciprocate. The other guys have settled in well and are the kind of players we need. The winning streak is not important. I’m looking at it game by game. We are being realistic and we want to win against Tottenham Hotspur.”
