Kiwoom defeats Hanwha in a nail-biter to extend its winning streak to three games.

Kiwoom defeated Hanwha 11-6 in an away game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Daejeon’s Hanwha Life Eagles Park on April 22.

Tablesetters Kim Hye-seong and Ronnie Dawson led the Kiwoom bats, combining for four hits and one RBI. The offense exploded for 11 runs on 15 hits, with Song Sung-moon going 2-for-3 and Park Soo-jong going 2-for-1.

Tenth-ranked Kiwoom, which has won three straight games, is now 54-78-3, 1.5 games behind ninth-ranked Samsung (53-74-1), which lost its fifth straight game on Sunday against Doosan in Daegu. Hanwha’s head-to-head record against them remains close at 7W8L1D.먹튀검증

After the game, Kiwoom head coach Hong Won-ki said, “Starter Jang Jae-young did his job for four innings, and the pitchers who followed did their job well. In a tight game, we were able to score an extra run in the ninth inning thanks to Jeon Byung-woo’s good bunting, and Song Sung-moon’s RBI double sealed the deal. I’m happy to give a victory to the fans who came to Daejeon and supported us.”

Despite not getting the win, Jang Jae-young pitched four innings of three-hit ball, striking out five and walking one. He threw a nearly two-pitch mix of fastballs (41) that topped out at 152 mph and averaged 148 mph, along with a slider (51) and a curveball (1).

Kiwoom will have five days off before facing SSG at home in Gochuk on Aug. 28.
