Gimcheon utilized a 4-3-3 tactic. Lee Jun-seok, Cho Young-wook, and Kim Hyun-wook led the attack. Won Doo-jae, Yoon Seok-joo, and Kang Hyun-mook coordinated the midfield. The defense was led by Park Min-gyu, Im Seung-gyeom, Lee Sang-min, and Kim Tae-hyun. Kim Jun-hong was in goal.

Eland utilized a 4-2-3-1 formation. Park Jung-in started as the frontline striker, with Lee Si-heon, Bruno, and Lee Chang-joon providing support behind him. Park Chang-hwan and Tsubasa lined up in the defensive midfield. Lee Jae-ik, Lee In-jae, Kim Min-kyu, and Lee Sang-min were in the back four. Yoon Bo-sang wore the goalkeeping gloves.

The two teams were in very different moods. Gimcheon had defeated Seongnam FC 4-0 in their previous match. They had accumulated 45 points from their previous 23 matches and were firmly in first place. Yiland, on the other hand, hadn’t won in their last seven matches. In particular, they were left with just two goals in their last five matches.

The game began. Gimcheon led the attack. Cho Young-wook, Kang Hyun-mook, and Kim Hyun-wook took turns firing shots at the opponent’s goal. Lee Land countered with a surprise counterattack. However, neither team was sharp. No finishing touches. The tense ‘0’ balance was broken in the 40th minute. Gimcheon had the last laugh. On a corner kick, Yoon Seok-joo’s short pass was picked up by Kim Hyun-wook. Kim Hyun-wook beat the opposing defense and sent in a cross. Won Doo-jae, who was on the doorstep, jumped up and finished with a header. It was Won’s first goal of the season. Gimcheon went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, Lee Land made a substitution. He brought on Honan and Yoo Jung-hwan in place of Lee Si-heon and Lee Chang-joon. In the 12th minute of the second half, Lee made another change, bringing on Lee Dong-ryul for Bruno. Gimcheon responded in kind. In the 15th minute, Kim Min-joon and Kim Jae-woo took the field instead of Kim Hyun-wook and Won Doo-jae.

Gimcheon smiled again. In the 18th minute of the second half, Lee Jun-seok drove through the center of the opposition and exploded for another goal. A rattled Ikeland tried to counterattack through Honan. However, Honan’s ambitious header was blocked by the opposing goalkeeper. Gimcheon scored a second goal in the 25th minute, but the video assistant referee (VAR) ruled a foul in the previous situation. The goal was disallowed.

Both teams made substitutions once again. Gimcheon brought on politician Koo Bon-seok for Lee Jun-seok Kang Hyun-mook, and Lee Land brought on Song Si-woo Seo-bomin for Park Chang-hwan. Gimcheon tried to defend and Lee Land tried to chase. There was a twist. Kim Tae-hyun fell to the ground with an injury. It was determined that he could no longer play. Yoon Jong-gyu filled the void, and Gimcheon laughed in the back of his mind. For the next eight minutes of the extra time, the team stayed focused and defended their lead until the end. In the last minute of the game, Cho Young-wook and Politician scored to seal the victory. Gimcheon collected three points at home.
